چکیده

Plastics are available in different shapes nowadays order to enhance the living standard. But unfortunately, most of these plastics synthetic nature that is why they show resistance physical and chemical degradation processes environmental hazards. The aim present research study was isolate identify beneficial fungal species from soil have capability degrade plastic. Soil samples a waste disposal site at Peshawar district were diluted inoculated on sabouraud dextrose agar (SDA) potato (PDA) for fungus isolation. After isolation, identifications done using standard identification techniques such as colony morphology microscopic examination. isolated identified Aspergillus Niger, flavus, Penicillium, white rot, brown rot fungi. experiment conducted evaluate isolates towards For this purpose, 2 cm2 plastic piece treated with one month liquid culture system. weight loss percentage estimated 22.9%, 16.1%, 18.4%, 22.7% by respectively, which confirmed Fourier transform analysis. obtained FTIR peaks revealed C–H bond deformation alkenes, ketones, esters. It has been concluded play significant role can be used bioreactors future studies complex materials.

Biodegradation of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) by Mixed Culture of Lysinibacillus xylanilyticus and Aspergillus niger in Soil

In this study, two strains of Aspergillus sp. and Lysinibacillus sp. with remarkable abilities to degrade low-density polyethylene (LDPE) were isolated from landfill soils in Tehran using enrichment culture and screening procedures. The biodegradation process was performed for 126 days in soil using UV- and non-UV-irradiated pure LDPE films without pro-oxidant additives in the presence and abse...

Fractional Distillation Process Utilized to Produce Light Fractional Fuel from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Waste Plastic

Plastics are not easily biodegradable; and because of these characteristics they can remain under landfill and water for a very long period of time. All over the world only 6% of waste plastics are recycled and the rest of all waste plastics are dumped into landfills. An experiment was conducted in a laboratory scale batch process under Labconco’s fume hood utilizing low density polyethylene (L...

Biodegradation of Polychlorinated Biphenyls by and Isolated from Contaminated Soil

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) cause many significant ecological problems because of their low degradability, high harmfulness, and solid bioaccumulation. Two bacterial strains were isolated from soil that had been polluted with electrical transformer liquid for more than 40 years. The isolates were distinguished as Lysinibacillus macrolides DSM54Tand Bacillus firmus NBRC1530...
